Privacy Policy
PlayPair is designed from the ground up to respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, what we do not collect, and how your data is handled when using our website and application.
1. Zero Account Registration
We do not require account creation, registration, or email verification to use PlayPair. There are no profiles, passwords, or usernames stored on our servers.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We are firm believers in data minimization. In accordance with legal regulations like GDPR and CCPA, the following data is never sent to or stored on our servers:
- No Media Content: PlayPair does not upload, stream, host, or transfer your video or audio files. Your files remain entirely on your local storage.
- No Personal Identification: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or social media handles.
- No Tracking Cookies: This website does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.
3. Ephemeral Synchronization Data
To synchronize playback states (play, pause, seek, and active media name) between users, PlayPair utilizes a secure WebSockets relay server using Microsoft SignalR. This transmission works under the following principles:
- Real-time Only: Synchronization commands and room codes are relayed in memory. They are not persisted to a database or disk.
- Instant Deletion: The moment a synchronization room is closed, all memory associated with that room code is instantly destroyed.
4. Server Log Data
Our public relay server is hosted on Render. Render automatically collects standard operational logs (including IP addresses and timestamps) to prevent denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, ensure server stability, and diagnose technical issues. These logs are maintained in compliance with Render's strict security guidelines and are not used for tracking or profiling purposes.
5. Your Rights
Because we do not store personal data, we do not have records to retrieve, modify, or delete upon request. If you host your own private relay server using our blueprint repository, you retain full operational control over your own server logs.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated modification date.
